TrainTrach - Tracheostomy Care using VR

In colllaboration with Nudge Reality Ltd. we were successful in aquiring funding from the Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) to develop simulation technology for healthcare training. The challenge was launched in 2021 by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board’s Dragon’s Heart Institute, in partnership with the Welsh Government, the SBRI Centre of Excellence and Cardiff Capital Region. The challenge has focused on tracheostomy care training, and we have developed a mult-user VR solution called TrainTrach.

The software runs on an Oculus Quest 2 and is currently being trialled in real life operating conditions within hospitals in Wales.
