HTC Vive Arrives

We recently took delivery of the HTC Vive head mounted display (HMD). This is one of several new affordable HMDs that are being launched in 2016. The Vive is supplied with two wireless controllers and two lighthouse base stations enabling 360° room-scale motion-tracking. It is therefore of particular interest for some of our projects in the Medical Graphics Reaearch Group

Our first application to take advantage of the Vive is a virtual anatomy viewer and disection tool. The figure above shows two of the team using the app, which has been developed by Tom (lower right image).
