Eurographics VCBM 2015 Hosted in Chester

The 5th annual Eurographics Workshop on Visual Computing for Biology and Medicine 2015 was organised by the University of Chester and Bangor University on the 14th-15th of September.

EG VCBM is addressing state-of-the-art visual computing research with a strong focus on applications in biology and medicine. EG VCBM is unique, as it provides a highly interdisciplinary forum for experts from computer graphics, visualization, computer vision, visual analytics, human computer interfaces and end users from biology and medicine jointly working on next generation visual computing solutions for healthcare and the biotechnology sector.

The Best Paper at EG VCBM 2015, and the recipient of an NVIDIA Graphics card, was awarded to:

  1. “Histology-Based Evaluation of Optical Coherence Tomographic of the Cerebral Artery Wall via Virtual Inflating”, Sylvia Glasser, Thomas Hoffmann, Axel Boese, Samuel Voß, Thomas Kalinski, Martin Skalej, and Bernhard Preim

Honourable mentions were given to:

  1. “A Survey of Cardiac 4D PC-MRI Data Processing”, Benjamin Köhler, Silvia Born, Roy van Pelt, Uta Preim, and Bernhard Preim

“CoWRadar: Visual Quantification of the Circle of Willis in Stroke Patients”, Haichao Miao, Gabriel Mistelbauer, Christian Našel and M. Eduard Gröller
